MDDA Fast-Tracks Housing Projects, Expands Land Bank to Meet March 2026 Deadline

Dehradun, November 18:The Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) has intensified efforts to accelerate residential development and expand its land bank, with Vice Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari issuing strict directives for time-bound and quality execution of key projects. Chairing a high-level review meeting, Tiwari emphasized that delays in development works would not be tolerated and that timely completion remains the Authority’s top priority.

Special focus was placed on the Dhaulash housing scheme, where construction of EWS (Economically Weaker Section) units is underway. Officials were instructed to ensure completion of all units by March 31, 2026. Similarly, the allotment process for flats under the Aamwala Tarla housing scheme must begin by the same deadline. Tiwari underscored the importance of transparency and urgency in schemes directly linked to public welfare.

To streamline administrative processes, assistant and junior engineers were assigned monthly targets to resolve at least five compounding cases and expedite disposal of pending map-related files. The Vice Chairman also directed officials to accelerate land acquisition under the Land Pooling Policy and identify suitable plots to strengthen MDDA’s land reserves.

The meeting resolved that all completed and under-construction parks developed by MDDA in Dehradun district will be jointly inspected by the Vice Chairman and Secretary in the first week of December. Tiwari stressed that green spaces and public amenities must be developed with high standards of safety and quality to enhance urban living.

MDDA Secretary Mohan Singh Barnia reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to ensuring both speed and quality in development works. He stated that clear instructions have been issued to departmental teams for timely execution of all projects, with special attention to compounding resolution, land pooling, and park infrastructure.
