Dhami Inaugurates Inter-Press Cricket Tournament in Dehradun


Dehradun, March 25: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday inaugurated the Manjul Singh Manjila Memorial Inter Cricket Tournament organised by the Uttaranchal Press Club at Maharana Pratap Sports College in Dehradun.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister also played cricket, boosting the morale of participants and promoting the spirit of sportsmanship.

Addressing the gathering, Dhami highlighted the importance of sports in overall physical and mental development. He said that sports help inculcate discipline, teamwork, leadership skills, and resilience among youth. He added that the state government is continuously working towards expanding sports infrastructure and providing better opportunities to athletes across Uttarakhand.

The Chief Minister further noted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, initiatives like Khelo India and Fit India Movement have laid a strong foundation for promoting a sports culture in the country. These programmes, he said, are inspiring for youth to engage in sports and adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Cabinet Minister Khajan Das, MLA Umesh Sharma Kau, Director of Sports Dr. Ashish Chauhan, Director General of Information Banshidhar Tiwari, and Uttaranchal Press Club President Ajay Singh Rana, along with other officials and dignitaries, were present at the event.
