Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday visited the Dehradun residence of Padma Shri awardee and internationally acclaimed shooter Jaspal Rana to express his condolences following the latter's demise.
The Chief Minister paid floral tributes to the mortal remains of the distinguished sports personality and conveyed his deep sorrow over the loss. Remembering Rana's remarkable contributions to Indian shooting, Dhami prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and extended his heartfelt sympathies to the grieving family.
During his visit, the Chief Minister met the bereaved family members and offered words of comfort and support during this difficult time. He prayed to God to grant strength, courage, and fortitude to the family to bear the irreparable loss.
Expressing his profound grief, Dhami also prayed for the departed soul to attain a place at the feet of the Almighty. He said that the nation and the state have lost an eminent sports personality whose achievements brought pride and recognition to India on the international stage.
Several well-wishers, admirers, and members of the sporting fraternity have also expressed condolences, remembering Jaspal Rana's immense contribution to Indian shooting and his lasting legacy in the field of sports.
