39 Units of Blood, One Powerful Message: Every Drop Can Save a Life

Dehradun: A blood donation camp organised by Jeev Ann Foundation at Shri Prithvinath Mahadev Temple collected 39 units of blood, reaffirming the spirit of voluntary service and community participation. The camp was organised in collaboration with the temple Sevadal Committee and City Heart Blood Centre.

A key highlight of the event was the felicitation of Dr. Anil Verma, a veteran blood donor who has donated blood 155 times. In recognition of his sustained contribution to blood donation and his work at the national level, Dr. Verma was conferred the “Raktdata Prerak Samman–2026” by Jeev Ann Foundation and City Heart Blood Centre. He was honoured with an angavastram and a sapling.

Dr. Verma expressed his gratitude to the office-bearers of Jeev Ann Foundation and City Heart Blood Centre for the recognition and reiterated the importance of encouraging more people to participate in voluntary blood donation.

All donors at the camp were presented with voluntary blood donation certificates, Certificates of Appreciation and saplings as a gesture of appreciation.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Vibha Gandhi described voluntary blood donation as an important social responsibility, stressing that donated blood can directly help save another person's life.

Joginder Singh Pundir also urged eligible citizens to come forward for voluntary blood donation, describing it as an important act of humanitarian service. Dinesh Giri Maharaj termed blood donation an act of altruism and likened the service of saving lives to an act of worship.

Jeev Ann Foundation president Advocate Sarthak Gupta said blood donation is among the simplest ways of serving society. He emphasised that a small contribution of time and blood can potentially give a critically ill person another chance at life.

Dr. Anil Verma also addressed the donors and spoke about the importance of voluntary blood donation. He encouraged regular participation in donation drives and shared information about the health-related benefits he associates with blood donation.

The event also witnessed the participation of a large number of volunteers, donors and members of the organising teams, including Jeev Ann Foundation patron Naveen Gupta, treasurer Shivansh Gupta, Prithvinath Temple Sevadal members Sanjay Garg and Sunil Goyal, and the City Heart Blood Centre team comprising nursing staff, technicians and support personnel.

The camp underscored a simple but powerful message: a voluntary act by one person can become a lifeline for another.
