"Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a grand and historic welcome marked by a record-breaking 12-km Mega Roadshow Draws Massive Crowds in Dehradun"
Dehradun: A sea of humanity lined the streets of Uttarakhand’s capital as Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a grand and historic welcome during his visit to inaugurate the Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor. The visit turned into a spectacular public event, marked by a record-breaking 12-kilometre-long roadshow that witnessed an overwhelming turnout.

The Prime Minister began with prayers at the revered Dat Kali Temple, seeking prosperity and well-being for the nation and the state. From there, he embarked on an extensive road show stretching nearly 12 kilometres to the Jaswant ground in Dehradun Cantonment—believed to be one of the longest such processions undertaken by him.

Thousands of people, including youth, women, and families, thronged both sides of the road waving and chanting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” as the Prime Minister’s convoy passed. The atmosphere was electric, the enthusiasm, zeal and energy was quite visible among Uttarkhand people to catch a glimpse of the leader.

Acknowledging the crowd, PM Modi greeted Dehradun people with folded hands and waves, visibly moved by the massive support. In his address later, he remarked that “Devbhoomi Uttarakhand always gives me energy,” emphasizing the deep emotional connect he shares with the state and its people.
He also expressed gratitude for the unprecedented turnout, noting that the sheer scale of public affection slowed down his convoy. “The love of the people was such that we had to move slowly to greet everyone, which delayed my arrival at the rally by over an hour,” he said, apologizing to those waiting at the venue.

The grand road show not only underscored the significance of the Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor but also highlighted the strong bond between the Prime Minister and the people of Uttarakhand—turning the event into a memorable celebration of public connect and development vision.
