Dehradun: The Department of Yoga Science at Kanya Gurukul Campus inaugurated a seven-day workshop on yoga and alternative medicine, drawing enthusiastic participation from students and faculty. The opening session was attended by Ayurvedic experts Vaidya Abhishek Saxena and Vaidya Bhanu Priya Kaushik as chief guests.
The inaugural ceremony witnessed active involvement from all students and teachers, with the programme focusing on holistic health and the traditional principle of “Swasthasya Rakshanam” (preservation of health). During the event, student Anushka Mishra was felicitated for earning recognition in the London Book of World Records, adding pride to the institution.
As part of the workshop activities, participants also volunteered in various roles. The experts conducted pulse diagnosis (Nadi Pariksha) and provided personalised guidance on treatment and medication based on individual body constitution (Prakriti) and dosha imbalances.
Organisers said the workshop aims to promote awareness about yoga, Ayurveda, and alternative healing practices while encouraging a preventive approach to health. The first day concluded successfully, setting a positive tone for the sessions ahead.
