Dehradun: Uttarakhand Congress is gearing up for an important organisational exercise as party in-charge and senior leader Kumari Selja will arrive in Dehradun on June 17 for a two-day visit. During her stay, Selja will hold a series of meetings with senior leaders, district presidents, and representatives of all party wings to strengthen the organisation ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
Congress leader Amarendra Bisht confirmed that Selja’s schedule includes a comprehensive review of the party’s preparedness at the grassroots level. She will interact with leaders from various departments, frontal organisations, and district units to discuss strategies for energising workers and improving booth-level coordination. The focus will be on building organisational synergy and sharpening the party’s electoral machinery.
Selja is also expected to deliberate on the party’s recent initiatives and assess how they can be further consolidated. According to Bisht, her visit aims to give momentum to the groundwork already undertaken by the state unit and to ensure that Congress remains competitive in the run-up to the polls.
The Congress general secretary has been making frequent visits to Uttarakhand, signalling the party’s intent to strengthen its presence in the state. Her engagements are designed not only to motivate workers but also to review preparations at the booth level, which is seen as critical for electoral success.
On June 17 and 18, Selja will meet senior leaders to discuss election strategy, organisational challenges, and ways to expand outreach. She will also interact with district presidents and heads of affiliated organisations to ensure coordination across all levels. The state Congress unit is actively preparing for her visit, viewing it as a crucial step in shaping the party’s roadmap for 2027.
