Service Beyond Faith, Darbar Sahib Blood Camp Collects 101 Units
Dehradun: The historic Shri Guru Ram Rai Darbar Sahib once again emerged as a centre of compassion, service and social commitment as a grand blood donation camp organized within its premises witnessed an enthusiastic response from donors, resulting in the collection of 101 units of blood. The camp was held on the occasion of the Nirvana Day of Brahmaleen Shri Mahant Indresh Charan Das Maharaj and reflected the institution's long-standing tradition of humanitarian service.
Held under the blessings of Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji, the event brought together social workers, spiritual leaders, healthcare professionals and blood donors united by the common goal of saving lives through voluntary blood donation. The camp was organized by Shri Mahakal Seva Samiti in collaboration with Shri Mahant Indresh Hospital's Blood Bank.
The programme began with floral tributes to Brahmaleen Mahant Indresh Charan Das Ji and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Minister of State Ashok Verma, renowned spiritual orator Pt. Subhash Joshi, Youth Red Cross Society Disaster Management Training Officer Dr. Anil Verma, Blood Bank Officer Dr. Prachi Negi, PRO Dinesh Ratudi and Shri Mahakal Seva Samiti President Roshan Rana participated in the inaugural ceremony.
One of the highlights of the event was the conferring of the prestigious “Raktveer” title upon Dr. Anil Verma in recognition of his exceptional contribution to the blood donation movement. Having donated blood 155 times, Dr. Verma has become an inspiring figure for voluntary blood donors across the state.
Addressing the gathering, Pt. Subhash Joshi described blood donation as one of the purest forms of service to humanity. He emphasized that blood donation transcends all social barriers and represents selfless compassion, as donors save the lives of people they may never meet.
Minister of State Ashok Verma praised the initiative and said that blood donation is a true act of altruism. He noted that while people naturally care for themselves and their families, the highest form of humanity is helping strangers in times of need.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Anil Verma applauded Shri Guru Ram Rai Darbar Sahib and Shri Mahakal Seva Samiti for nurturing a culture of service and social responsibility. He described the successful organization of the 35th blood donation camp as a remarkable achievement and commended the efforts of President Roshan Rana and his team in sustaining the blood donation movement.
Dr. Verma also interacted with donors and volunteers, dispelling myths surrounding blood donation and highlighting its health benefits. He encouraged young people to come forward and participate in voluntary blood donation drives, calling them an essential pillar of community welfare.
Expressing gratitude for the honour bestowed upon him, Dr. Verma thanked the organizers and reaffirmed his commitment to spreading awareness about blood donation and motivating more people to become regular donors.
Camp coordinator Roshan Rana, while delivering the vote of thanks, expressed gratitude to Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji for his blessings and guidance. He also thanked all donors, guests, healthcare officials, volunteers and members of the service committee whose efforts made the event a resounding success.
Officials and volunteers from Shri Mahant Indresh Hospital, including Dr. Prachi Negi, PRO Dinesh Ratudi, Coordinator Bipin Kumar, Anushka Rana, Jitendra Malik and other members of the organizing team played a vital role in ensuring the smooth conduct of the camp.
