Students lead vibrant cultural performances as Dayalbagh celebrations highlight national duty, self-reliance, women’s empowerment and value-based education
Agra, August 15, 2026: Dayalbagh celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour, vibrant cultural performances and a strong emphasis on discipline, service and responsibility towards the nation.
The celebrations, organised by the Radhasoami Satsang Sabha, Dayalbagh, began early in the morning with children of the Sant Superman Scheme presenting colourful performances at the fields. Their patriotic presentations set the tone for a day centred on national pride and the values associated with Independence.
Following the morning field activities, volunteers of the S.F.G. and R.A.F. jointly presented a Guard of Honour upon the arrival of Most Revered Huzur Satsangi Sahab and Most Respected Rani Sahiba Ji at the Bhandara Ground.
The main ceremony began with the unfurling of the National Flag by Pre. Bha. Gur Sarup Sood, IDAS (Retd.), President, Radhasoami Satsang Sabha and Dayalbagh Educational Institutions. The National Anthem was followed by the Dayalbagh Flag Song, “Suno Bhai Ek Gaan Hamara,” presented by students of P.V. and R.E.I.
Students bring patriotic spirit to the celebrations
Students from various Dayalbagh educational institutions presented a series of cultural and patriotic performances, showcasing both artistic talent and a strong sense of national pride.
Students of D.E.I. R.E.I. Intermediate College presented an energetic action song on “Mere Desh Ki Dharti Sona Ugle,” while students of D.E.I. P.V. Primary School and the Extended Wing delivered an impressive roller-skating performance to “Parcham Lehra Do Apna.”
The young children of the D.E.I. Nursery-cum-Play Centre presented “Chalo Chalein, Badhte Chalein — Let’s March Forward,” while students of the D.E.I. School of Art and Culture performed a patriotic action dance on “Jayatu Jayatu Bharatam.” Students of the D.E.I. School of Languages added a Telugu action song to the celebrations.
Other performances included presentations by students of D.E.I. Radhasoami Saran Ashram Nagar School and D.E.I. Dairy Bagh Primary School, as well as students of D.E.I. Prem Vidyalaya Girls’ Intermediate College.
The Gender Free Superhumane Children presented “Hey Bharat, Hey Bharat, Tujhko Naman Hamara,” expressing their affection and devotion towards the motherland.
Women showcase strength and self-defence
A notable highlight of the programme was a Women Empowerment demonstration by women participants of the R.A.F., who displayed self-defence skills, strength, courage, alertness and proficiency.
Sweets were distributed among children of the Nursery-cum-Play Centre and the Gender Free Superhumane Children, adding to the festive spirit of the occasion.
This year’s celebrations also highlighted the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’, which has been accorded special significance nationally. At Dayalbagh, the National Song was presented as a continuing symbol of patriotism, unity and dedication to the nation.
‘Independence must strengthen our sense of duty’
In his Independence Day message, Radhasoami Satsang Sabha President Pre. Bha. Gur Sarup Sood paid tribute to the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and said the best way to honour their legacy was to embrace values such as discipline, hard work and social responsibility.
He highlighted Dayalbagh’s emphasis on value-based, work-oriented multidisciplinary education, particularly for the “last, the least, the lowest and the lost”, alongside selfless service, self-reliance and environmental conservation.
He said the younger generation was being encouraged to contribute actively to nation-building with confidence, discipline and a spirit of selfless service.
Secretary of the Radhasoami Satsang Sabha, Dayalbagh, Pre. Bha. Prem Das Satsangi, said Independence Day at Dayalbagh was observed not merely as a national festival but as an occasion to reinforce the values of duty, discipline and service.
He noted that preparations for the celebrations begin well in advance, with students, teachers, parents, trainers and institutional heads working together. Two full rehearsals are conducted before the main programme, helping instil discipline, cooperation and responsibility among young participants.
He emphasised that at Dayalbagh, education is complemented by labour, service, self-reliance, environmental sensitivity and socially useful work, reflecting an approach towards holistic development.
The presence of Most Revered Huzur Satsangi Sahab and Most Respected Rani Sahiba Ji added to the significance of the celebrations. Senior office-bearers of the Radhasoami Satsang Sabha, faculty members, students and a large number of satsangis attended the programme.
Celebrations reach branches across India and abroad
The Independence Day programme was also telecast live to approximately 580 branches in India and abroad, enabling lakhs of satsangis to participate in the celebrations both online and offline.
The Dayalbagh observance ultimately combined patriotism with a broader message: that the meaning of freedom extends beyond remembrance of the past and calls for disciplined citizenship, social responsibility, self-reliance, service and a sustained commitment to nation-building.
