New Delhi/Kathmandu: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and property caused by the devastating floods in Nepal and held a telephone conversation with Nepalese Prime Minister Balen Shah. During the discussion, PM Modi conveyed India's condolences to the families affected by the disaster and reiterated India's commitment to supporting Nepal during this difficult time.

The floods have reportedly claimed at least 17 lives, while rising water levels in several rivers, including the Gandak River, have led to widespread damage and disruption across affected regions.
