Lead Reporting
Mussoorie: Emphasising the importance of responsible leadership, intellectual curiosity and cultural rootedness among young people, the Chief Guest at the MIS SDG Summit 2026 urged students to develop a deeper understanding of India’s rich heritage while embracing modern knowledge and emerging global perspectives.
The summit was organised by Mussoorie International School in collaboration with Aspirant Learning, bringing together bright young minds from across the country for an engaging exchange of ideas and perspectives on leadership, sustainable development and nation-building.
Addressing the students, the Chief Guest underscored that leadership should not be measured by the position an individual occupies but by the sense of responsibility, commitment and service demonstrated through actions. The message encouraged students to view leadership as an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to society rather than merely seek authority or recognition.
The students were also encouraged to cultivate the habit of reading extensively, thinking critically and engaging in regular introspection. Highlighting the importance of learning from the lives of distinguished personalities, the speaker urged them to explore the ideologies, experiences and contributions of individuals who have served the nation across diverse fields.
Such engagement with India’s inspiring personalities, the speaker observed, can help young people develop clarity of thought, strengthen their values and draw meaningful lessons for their own lives. Understanding the journeys of those who have contributed to the country’s progress can also foster a deeper sense of national responsibility and purpose.
The address further highlighted the need for India’s youth to strike a balance between contemporary knowledge and the country’s civilisational heritage. Students were encouraged to remain receptive to scientific advancement, innovation and modern ideas while preserving the cultural values and ethical foundations that have shaped Indian society.
The MIS SDG Summit 2026 provided a platform for students to engage with important questions concerning leadership, personal development and their role in building a better future.
The interaction reinforced the message that informed, thoughtful and value-driven young citizens are essential to India’s continued progress.
