Uncontested Nomination Paves Way for Shivani Rana’s Leadership in Dhargaon

Dhargaon, November 16

After waiting until she turned 21 on October 16, Shivani Rana has filed her nomination for the upcoming by-election in Dhargaon. In a significant development, she remains the sole candidate to have filed nomination papers by the final deadline today, paving the way for her unopposed election as village head.

The Gram Sabha had already expressed its unanimous support for Shivani during the last panchayat elections, declaring her as their preferred choice for the leadership role. With no other contenders stepping forward, her path to becoming the next Pradhan of Dhargaon is now clear.

With her unopposed nomination for village head confirmed, Shivani Rana has outlined her priorities and aspirations as she steps into public office. Her foremost commitment is to repair and widen the damaged and narrow roads that have long plagued Dhargaon residents.

Shivani, who aims to build a career in education, is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) after completing her B.Sc from HNB Garhwal University last year. She affirmed that she will continue her studies while fulfilling her responsibilities as Pradhan.

In the ongoing by-election, consensus has been reached in five out of seven ward member positions in the Gram Panchayat, with all five members elected unopposed.

Shivani comes from a modest background. Her father, Vishal Singh Rana, is a driver, and her mother, Sumitra Rana, is a primary school teacher. Her rise to leadership reflects both community trust and her personal dedication to public service.
