Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has hailed the Union Budget 2026-27 as a progressive and inclusive roadmap that will accelerate economic growth and expand opportunities for all sections of society. Extending congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Dhami described the budget as a “new direction for the development of both the nation and the states.”
Focus on Inclusive Growth
The Chief Minister said the budget emphasizes faster economic growth, fulfillment of people’s aspirations, and the principle of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. He noted that special attention has been given to farmers, women, youth, marginalized groups, small entrepreneurs, and backward communities.
Key Provisions for Employment and Infrastructure
Dhami highlighted that the budget makes significant allocations for employment generation, education, healthcare, tourism, skill development, women’s empowerment, industry, and infrastructure. These measures, he said, will benefit the entire country while creating new job opportunities for Uttarakhand’s youth.
Boost for Mountain States
The budget includes plans to develop eco-friendly mountain trails in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu & Kashmir. Dhami said this initiative will strengthen tourism and infrastructure in Uttarakhand, which are vital for sustainable growth. He added that provisions for agriculture, animal husbandry, high-value crops, tourism, and MSMEs will reinforce the rural and hill economy of the state.
Long-Term Gains in Innovation and Energy
The Chief Minister further pointed out that investments in environment and energy security, digital technology, and the bio-pharma sector will ensure long-term benefits for both the state and the nation.
Commitment to Implementation
Dhami affirmed that the Uttarakhand government will work closely with the Centre to effectively implement the schemes announced in the budget. He concluded that the Union Budget 2026-27 will not only strengthen India’s economic power but also provide equal opportunities for development to mountain states like Uttarakhand
