Narraverse’26 Lights Up Doon University


Dehradun, April 20: The School of Media and Communication Studies at Doon University hosted the sixth edition of its annual media fest, “Narraverse 2026,” at the Nityananda Auditorium, blending academic insight with creative expression in a vibrant showcase of talent.

The event was graced by Vice Chancellor Prof. Surekha Dangwal, who elaborated on the concept of “Narraverse” and praised the department’s growing achievements. She also announced that the university is set to reach new heights with the upcoming launch of its own radio station, marking a significant step forward in media education.

A major highlight of the fest was the interactive session with chief guest Gajendra Singh Rawat, whose engaging presence energized the audience. His soulful performance of the traditional “Jagar” dedicated to Nanda Devi created a spiritually uplifting atmosphere, leaving the audience captivated.

The academic segment featured an insightful alumni interaction with Sumit Sharma, Arvind Mamgain, and Srijan Dangwal, who shared their professional journeys and offered valuable guidance to students aspiring to enter the media industry.

Students also showcased their storytelling and technical skills in a short film competition, where Krish Kamboj, Shashwat Thakuri, and Garv secured the first position for their outstanding work.

The second half of the fest transitioned into a lively cultural celebration, with energetic dance performances and traditional presentations like ‘Nati’ by fourth-year students, adding color and enthusiasm to the event.

With active participation from students and faculty, “Narraverse 2026” emerged as a dynamic platform celebrating creativity, learning, and cultural expression, making it a memorable experience for all involved.
