Garhwal Commissioner Urges Devotees to Monitor Weather Conditions Before Planning Journey
Dehradun: In view of the India Meteorological Department’s orange alert predicting rain and adverse weather conditions across several parts of Uttarakhand, particularly in the hill districts, on May 12 and 13, Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey has appealed to pilgrims and tourists undertaking the Char Dham Yatra to exercise caution and remain updated about weather conditions before travelling.
The Commissioner advised devotees to plan their journeys carefully, keeping in mind the weather sensitivity in mountainous regions during the next two days.
“Pilgrims should obtain the latest weather updates before travelling and make their travel plans with utmost caution. If possible, it would be more convenient to undertake the journey once weather conditions improve,” Pandey said.
He also urged travellers to strictly follow guidelines and advisories issued by the administration and local authorities during the pilgrimage to ensure their safety and smooth movement along the Yatra routes.
The state government, he said, remains fully committed to ensuring that the Char Dham Yatra is conducted in a safe, smooth, and well-organised manner. Necessary instructions have already been issued to all concerned departments to maintain preparedness and ensure adequate arrangements for pilgrims.
Pandey expressed confidence that with public cooperation and timely precautions, the Char Dham Yatra would continue safely and successfully despite the challenging weather conditions forecast for the coming days.
