Modern State Guest House Planned in Ratuda

Dhami Government Fast-Tracks Project with Time-Bound Construction Plan, Strengthening Char Dham Yatra Infrastructure

Dehradun: In a significant move to strengthen infrastructure along the Char Dham Yatra route, the Uttarakhand government has accelerated plans for the construction of a modern State Guest House in Ratuda, Rudraprayag. The project, announced by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, is expected to enhance administrative preparedness and provide improved accommodation facilities in one of the state's most important pilgrimage districts.

A high-level meeting chaired by Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, Secretary, State Property Department, was held at the State Secretariat on Friday to review the project's design, planning, and execution strategy. The proposed guest house will be built on 0.375 hectares of land identified in Ratuda and has been accorded top priority under the Chief Minister's announcements.

Officials were directed to prepare and submit the Detailed Project Report (DPR) at the earliest so that construction work can commence within a defined timeline. The government aims to ensure that the project progresses swiftly and efficiently.

Blend of Modern Comfort and Himalayan Heritage

During the meeting, Dr. Kumar instructed officials of the Provincial Division of the Public Works Department, Rudraprayag, to develop the facility in a modern mountain architectural style. The design will incorporate local architectural elements, blend with the natural landscape, and cater to the unique requirements of the Himalayan region.

The proposed guest house will feature adequate accommodation, conference facilities, VIP suites, parking areas, security arrangements, and other essential amenities. Authorities envision it as a prestigious state asset that reflects Uttarakhand's cultural identity while meeting present and future requirements.

Environmental Compliance a Key Priority

Special emphasis was placed on adhering to environmental and technical standards. Officials were directed to ensure that the building's location complies with National Green Tribunal (NGT) norms regarding river proximity. Construction parameters, including height restrictions and structural standards applicable to mountainous regions, will also be strictly followed.

The State Property Department has stressed that no compromise will be made on quality and that the facility will be equipped with modern amenities while maintaining ecological sensitivity. Regular monitoring of the project will be undertaken at the government level.

Boost for Pilgrimage Management and Governance

Experts believe the guest house will play a vital role in supporting the Char Dham Yatra, particularly for pilgrims travelling to Kedarnath Temple. Rudraprayag serves as a crucial transit and administrative hub on the pilgrimage circuit, witnessing the movement of lakhs of devotees, government officials, and dignitaries every year.

The facility is also expected to strengthen disaster management preparedness, facilitate official meetings, and provide quality accommodation for state guests and visiting delegations.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar said the government is committed to modernizing state assets in line with the vision of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. He emphasized that the Ratuda State Guest House is a strategically important project for both the Char Dham Yatra and administrative operations and will be developed with high-quality standards, modern infrastructure, and environmentally responsible planning.

The project marks another step in Uttarakhand's ongoing efforts to improve pilgrimage infrastructure while preserving the state's rich cultural and natural heritage.
