CUH Faculty Member Dr. Neeraj Karan Singh Honoured with ‘Nagari Sevi Samman-2026’


Mahendergarh, Haryana: Dr. Neeraj Karan Singh, Assistant Professor in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication and Public Relations Officer at the Central University of Haryana (CUH), has been conferred the prestigious ‘Nagari Sevi Samman-2026’ for his significant contributions to the promotion, propagation, and development of the Nagari script.

The award was presented at the 50th National Nagari Lipi Convention, jointly organized by the Nagari Lipi Parishad, New Delhi, and the Bengaluru Hindi Academy, Bengaluru. The ceremony was held on June 21, 2026, in Bengaluru and witnessed the participation of leading linguists, academicians, writers, and scholars from across the country.

Congratulating Dr. Singh on the achievement, CUH Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar said that the university’s faculty members continue to bring recognition to the institution through their academic excellence and national-level accomplishments. He expressed confidence that Dr. Singh would continue to play a vital role in the preservation, promotion, and dissemination of the Nagari script, Hindi language, and the Indian Knowledge System.

Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma also extended his congratulations, describing the Nagari script as a cornerstone of India’s knowledge tradition and cultural heritage. He noted that Dr. Singh’s dedication to the field has brought pride to the university and would inspire young faculty members and researchers to contribute towards the advancement of Indian languages and scripts.

Presenting the award, Dr. Harisingh Pal, General Secretary of the Nagari Lipi Parishad, and Dr. Ispaq Ali, President of the Bengaluru Hindi Academy, praised Dr. Singh’s sustained efforts in highlighting the scientific dimensions of the Nagari script. They expressed confidence that his work would further strengthen the script’s recognition as a scientifically structured writing system on the global stage.

Apart from his academic and administrative responsibilities as Deputy Dean of Students’ Welfare at CUH, Dr. Singh is currently editing a scholarly volume focusing on the scientific aspects of the Nagari script.

Expressing gratitude after receiving the honour, Dr. Singh dedicated the award to his parents, teachers, colleagues, and students, acknowledging their constant support and inspiration throughout his academic journey.
