The decision comes 51 days after the disaster, and no information has been found about the whereabouts of these individuals.
Disaster Background
The Dharali disaster occurred on August 5, 2025, when a sudden flood and debris flow caused widespread destruction in the Dharali market and surrounding areas of Uttarkashi district. The disaster was triggered by a landslide and flash flood in the Khirganga river.
Death Certificate Process
To obtain the death certificate, families of the missing individuals will need to:
- File a missing person report with the local authorities
- Wait for a 30-day notice period for any objections
- Receive the death certificate after verification
