Dehradun, December 21: For the first time in its history, Uttarakhand will host a Travel Conclave in the new year, with roadshows planned across the country to promote the state’s tourism potential. The event will be organized in collaboration with the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) and will see active participation from the Hotel and Restaurant Association, Uttarakhand Tourism Representative Association, Tour Operators Association of Uttarakhand, and the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India.
The Tourism Department has already begun preparations for the two-day B2B conclave, which will bring together stakeholders from across India. The focus will be on wedding tourism, adventure tourism, and responsible tourism, positioning Uttarakhand as a premier destination in these segments.
On Saturday, a meeting of the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board, chaired by CEO and Secretary Dheeraj Singh Garbyal, gave in-principle approval for the event. Garbyal said the conclave would be a decisive step in establishing the state as a hub for niche tourism categories.
Domestic and international tour operators, wedding planners, event and concert organizers, and adventure tourism companies will showcase their products and services through expos and displays. The conclave will also feature thematic sessions and meetings dedicated to wedding tourism, adventure tourism, domestic and international travel, and responsible tourism.
